A few months ago Caitlin Worthington, Rebecca Joanne, Melissa Cook and myself joined forces to collaborate on a beauty editorial featuring live Monarch butterflies. Big thanks to Elleshia Edwards at Chadwick’s for modelling for us and for tolerating butterflies flapping on and around her face while we were shooting! I made all of the collars Elleshia is wearing using second hand shirts, my trusty hot glue gun, some rocks from an aquarium store and lots of crafty bits and bobs from op shops and Spotlight.

If patience is a virtue then I am virtuous indeed, because I had to wait six long months to publish these snaps on Dropstitch! Late last year I collaborated on a project with fellow All Of The Above creatives Libby Edwards and Rebecca Joanne, creating an ethereal, dream-like shoot for Canada’s  String Magazine. String were lovely enough to publish our images in their first ever print edition, which came out a few days ago and is now available online here. Big thanks to Bec Jones from Scene for modeling for us, to Maevana Mitchell for her fantastic behind the scenes video and to Poppy Lissiman, Kirsten from Paper Skye, Nathan at Limedrop and the team at Pigeonhole for lending me their lovely threads.

A few months ago I joined forces with All Of The Above Creative‘s Constance Bowles and Caitlin Worthington to create a shoot for submission to Peppermint Magazine. A national Australian publication with a focus on environmentally sustainable fashion, beauty and lifestyle products, Peppermint is one of my favourite reads, so I was super duper excited when I found out that they were going to publish our shoot in their Autumn 2011 edition.  That edition hit shelves across Australia today and I must say I think it’s fabulous, made even more wonderful with the inclusion of our Sweet Surrender shoot!

I wanted the styling to be really sweet and feminine so I touched base with Liz from Awoke On A Whale Heart Vintage to borrow some of her superb second hand frocks, plus Oli from Black Beret in Mt Lawley and three of last year’s graduates from Challenger Institute’s fashion and textiles course – Stephanie Audino, Natalie Donovan and Louise Hedley.

Congrats to the team at Peppermint for another fantastic edition! I’ll post more snaps from the shoot that didn’t make it into the magazine later this week.
