A few months back, me and the team from X-Press Fashion were lucky enough to gain access to the newly opened Perth Arena for a summer photoshoot with an athletic vibe. Melbournites are rugging up for cooler days, Sydneysiders are cracking out their umbrellas but here in Perth, Autumn is nowhere to be seen. What’s the deal mother nature? Why must you torture us with a long, hot summer that will seemingly never end? Perth may be in the middle of its two millionth heat wave of 2012, but this Wednesday the Autumn edition of X-Press Fashion hits the streets of Perth (fingers crossed we get some suitably cool weather soon!). Shot at the awesome Gasworks in the City Of Perth, Haze is an uber colourful look at fashions for ladies and fellas, shot by Luke Thompson with styling by yours truly and beauty by Sam Enticknap. Big thanks to Adhiel from Scene and Mason from Vivien’s for modeling for us.

Every day on my way to work I drive past Wall Candy, a stunning wallpaper and interiors showroom that has some of the best visual merchandising displays I’ve ever seen. On the hunt for somewhere bright and colourful for the X-Press Fashion Autumn womenswear shoot, I decided to finally step inside Wall Candy and what I discovered went above and beyond all expectations!
Lucky for me the wonderful folks who own and run the store were kind enough to grant my XF team access to their amazing Highgate premises and these images are a sneak peek of the shoot we did there. All the images from Colour My World, plus a menswear shoot photographed by Luke Thompson (I’ll share those photos shortly), and plenty of lovely features are packed into the next edition X-Press Fashion, which hits stands around Perth (and is uploaded online) on March 17.

Things have been rather quiet here at Dropstitch HQ as I’ve been busy working on the next edition of X-Press Fashion. Featuring a hunter/lumberjack inspired menswear shoot and a womenswear editorial shot on location at the beautiful Wall Candy showroom in Highgate, the next edition of X-Press Fashion, out on March 17, is set to be a ripper!
