I’m not quite sure what to do with myself at the moment… after months of crane folding, fittings, photoshoots, documentary shoots and designer meetings, the WA-Hyogo Banshu Textile Exchange Program show for Perth Fashion Festival 2011 is done and dusted, and I have my life back. As the project manager of Hyogo Banshu it was up to me to organise pretty much everything and I absolutely loved the challenge. I got to choose everything from the venue to the models and the hair and makeup, which was rad because I’m a total control freak!
As I was way too busy on the night to take photos, the amazing Libby Edwards from All Of The Above Creative stepped in for some behind the scenes photography and her snaps are amazing! Love the pics she got of the crane chandelier, which was made with close to 1000 cranes, hand folded and strung together by yours truly.
Big thanks to the amazing team who made the event possible, in particular the six graduate designers – Jen Nebel, Seonaidh Murphy, Yan Zion, Bea Cho, Jonte Pike and Mia Cramer; plus John from Cut & Paste, Graham at the State Theatre, the team from L’Oreal and Lauren Wood, the amazing models, and my many trusty helpers.
