I turn 24 in a few weeks and I think it’s high time I have a professional (read: tax deductable) holiday. For that reason and many others I’ve decided to make the trek over to Sydney from May 3-7 for Rosemount Australia Fashion Week and I’m as excited as a kid before Christmas about it. The last time I went to Sydney was back in 1999 when I was an orthodontically challenged teenager trying to come to terms with my sense of style or lack thereof (as photographic evidence has and will continue to prove). Anyway, my point is that I haven’t been to Sydney in ages so I need recommendations on where to shop, eat, drink, dance etc. Any ideas from Sydneysiders or those in the know would be much appreciated. Look forward to some Sydney street style snaps in coming months!

Since you’re such a vintage lady I think you’d love Oxford and Crown Streets, close to the city as well as taking a trip to Newtown in Sydney’s inner west. If you love dumplings, Dai Tin Fung is THE place to go and it’s quite inexpensive as well as the little shops of China Town, which sell ridiculously cheap fare!
No direct advice on where to shop in Sydney, but I think coming over for fashion week is a fantastic idea! We need more Perth girls on this side! Hope you enjoy your trip! p.s. love the blog x
Newtown newtown newtown! 🙂 That’s all I know, really.
There are some amazing vegetarian restaurants there too!!! Hit ’em up 🙂
Have an awesome holiday xx
So funny, but just visted Newtown for dinner this week (pics on blog) and yes, totally agree – fantastic place to shop and you have to try Thai Pothong! It was amazing and such great service! x
I second Dai Tin Fung. Do it.
hit up Glebe, tonnes of vintage/op-shops/markets 🙂
a totally different side to Sydney.
I’d also recommend Oxford street.
