It’s not easy to find great locations for photoshoots in Perth that haven’t been used a million times before. But when Caitlin Worthington approached me about doing a retro shoot, I knew exactly who to call on.
I’d been chatting with Sue from Concrete Swan on Instagram for a while about our mutual love of all things vintage and I’d already fallen in love with her stunning home from the small glimpses I had seen of it on social media. So, with my fingers firmly crossed, I dropped her an email to see if she would let Caitlin, Rebecca Collins, myself and the stunning Gerlie Siki invade her home for an afternoon to take some photos. Sue was kind enough to say yes and the rest is history.
Filled to the brim with gorgeous rugs, artwork, furniture, pottery and a tonne of other retro treasures, her home is a photographer’s dream come true. When she’s not collecting amazing things Sue restores gorgeous outdoor furniture from eras past which she sells on Gumtree and eBay. If you want to give your verandah or outdoor entertaining area a splash of colour in the form of beautiful matching tables and chairs I thoroughly recommend you peruse her wonderful wares.
