After spending so much time engrossed in the universe of Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel earlier this year (see the blog post a little further down the page for more on my Grand Budapest display at Luna), I decided it was time to revisit some Wes classics. It’s hard for me to pin down a favourite Wes film because I love them all for different reasons but The Royal Tenenbaums is definitely up there. The characters, the costumes, the house, the matching tracksuits… it all sings to me.
I’ve always wanted to do a Wes Anderson inspired fashion editorial and after spending so much time at Luna I knew it would be the perfect location for such a shoot. Margot Tenenbaum stood out as the obvious character to base an editorial around and I just so happened to know the perfect Margot-esque model – the beautiful Jessie Moloney.
So voila! Here it is! Created once again in collaboration with some of my favourite creatives – Caitlin Worthington Photography and Rebecca Collins – makeup artist extraordinaire. Big thanks to Candice and the team at Luna for allowing us to shoot in their spectacular cinema. I thoroughly recommend you head on down there asap and check out one of the many fabulous films showing. And might I add that their choc-bombs and popcorn are top notch.
